Angel & Faith #12

"The last few pages jump back to Earth and reveal more of Whistler's shenanigans (big bad's plans starting to come together?) to end the issue on a deadly hook. This series has been doing a great job of keeping both the issues and arcs fast-paced and ending with a nice hook line or image to make sure fans are waiting eagerly for the next one." -iFanboy

"Everything is solid, the characters voices feel and sound true, Rebekah Isaacs does a phenomenal job and Christos Gage’s writing just keeps getting better. This really was a great read and I can’t wait for the next issue!" -BAMFAS

Axe Cop: President of the World #1

"If you are not reading Axe Cop, you need to fix that. It's unbridled madness and is quite possibly the most fun you can have while reading a comic. Every once and a while, when I mention Axe Cop to someone who has never read the series, they'll ask me what it's about. I'll tell them it's not really about anything, at all; it's just a good time.

I'm just glad we live in a world where Axe Cop: President of the World exists." - IGN

"This is the sh*t comic book dreams are made of.  Axe Cop: President Of The World not only gives me hope for comics, but for humanity as well." - Crave Online

B.P.R.D. Hell on Earth: Exorcism #2

"Since there’s not really such thing as a bad B.P.R.D. issue, it’s shouldn’t come as a surprise that I went with this issue as Pick of the Week, but it never seems to line up, and often suffers from being so consistently good that there’s just not much to say. Yet I’m glad I get the chance to spotlight something that almost every pro I’ve ever talked to singles out as the most consistently well done series in comics, as it has been for years. Don’t let the history or the titles confuse you. Get in. Join the Bureau." -iFanboy

"And boom goes the dynamite! BPRD’s “Hell on Earth” saga strikes again with another kick ass story arc as the 2-part “Exorcism” comes to a blood pumping conclusion. I assumed that this issue would be faster paced than the first, which wasn’t too shabby to begin with. Of course, I was right. Story arc after story arc “B.P.R.D.” has delivers nonstop entertainment with quality story lines and consistently fabulous art. This issue opens the door for the “Hell on Earth” event to begin hitting climatic moments." - Bloody Disgusting

The Goon #40

"There is no other comic book on the shelves that has outstanding, consistent unique storytelling, brilliant and funny satire, and distinct artwork.  If you ever get down on the experience of reading comic books and feel that there’s nothing new out there, just pick up a copy of Goon." - Comic Bastards

"Powell does whatever he wants, however he wants, but luckily for us, his desires are not hard to read and are, in fact, quite fun. And that’s the whole reason you should read The Goon. It’s fun. We live in a world that has so very little fun in it, especially in comics. You should flock towards the fun. You should flock towards The Goon." -Geeks of Doom

Mass Effect: Homeworlds #3

"I’ve got to admit I’m really enjoying the Mass Effect: Homeworlds series. Seeing some of the best squad mates from Mass Effect as kids and on adventures that took place without Shepard really draws me into the universe even more.   In issue number 3 we’ve for a great look at Garrus.  While the story is what I love about Mass Effect I don’t want to neglect to mention that the art in this comic is great." - VG Revolution

"It's the best of the series. Why? Because it does everything it needed to do by taking a Mass Effect staple in Garrus and expands on him." - Comic Bastards

Mind MGMT #3

"I seriously got chills when I looked at the cover of this issue and it only got better inside. The side stories are still a fantastic read that add to the depth of the story and I could honestly read an entire issue of just those stories. Perhaps they’ll make a one-shot issue collecting them so readers can see just how much of the world they already know about. I don’t know if there are any better books shipping this week because this one stole my heart instantly. If you’re not reading this book you need to be, it will be talked about for years to come and is sure to win all kinds of awards at the end of the year. Personally, I just want a poster of the cover to stare at all day for inspiration and beauty." - Comic Bastards

"This series is gorgeous. The cover is evocative. Breathtaking. The interior doesn't lag behind. It's sneaky. At first glance, it seems amateurish but closer scrutiny reveals a master's work. The story's mystery is both subtle and wildly chaotic. The absolute worst part of the issue was that it ended right before major secrets were revealed. Outstanding." - Technorati

Resident Alien #3

"If you missed this series then you really need to check it out from the beginning because it’s very different and interesting. It focused on one element of a Sci-Fi world, but in doing so it created a larger much more rewarding world in its wake. I was happy with this series and it’s ending and if it ended here that would be okay, but thankfully it continues on." - Comic Bastards

"Hopefully now that Hogan and Parkhouse know for certain that more "Resident Alien" comics are happening, we'll see a slightly stronger conclusion to future stories. Still, it was enough fun that I'll read what the duo serve up next. For an "alien hiding on Earth" story, it feels just original and intriguing enough that it stands out and needs to be read." - Comic Book Resources

Star Wars: Blood Ties—Boba Fett is Dead #4

"Overall, I’ve been pretty excited about Boba Fett Is Dead – there is a such a richness to the artwork, and we got a great story that tied into the larger picture of Boba Fett and the people he cares about. for a series that started off with just a trail of bodies and explosions, it tapered off on the action a little in the end, but the results are still satisfying – we find out the why behind everyone’s actions. Will we see more of Connor, Boba Fett, Sintas or even Teychanne? I hope so, in future stories in Blood Ties." -Big Shiny Robot

"With a verbal showdown between Boba Fett and another bounty hunter named Teychenne, an action sequence you will wish had been in the movies, and a wrap-up that leaves you wonderring what adventures await Boba and Connor, Star Wars: Blood Ties—Boba Fett is Dead is a worthy addition to theStar Wars pantheon and well worth picking up." -Fanboy Comics

Star Wars: Darth Maul—Death Sentence #1

"Death Sentence #1 manages to walk that fine line between exposing the character and keeping enough hidden behind the curtain so that the illusion isn’t spoiled.

Writer Tom Taylor quickly sets up Maul’s current predicament – he and his brother Savage Opress find themselves with a massive bounty on their heads – while managing to re-establish why Maul is such a badass in the first place." - IGN

"Darth Maul finally receives his proper due in Star Wars – Darth Maul: Death Sentence. For too long, Maul was simply a bogeyman figure for fans to wonder and speculate upon. Writer Tom Taylor lets the now cybernetic Sith Lord cut loose in a glorious display of rage and hate. The art by Bruno Redondo is very expressive and is a strong fit within the Star Wars universe. Known characters appear as readers expect, but without relying on heavy photo referencing. The more I think about it, the more I enjoy this book. The creators have found the balance often lacking in most Star Wars products. They've managed to create a comic that reads as a dangerous tale of revenge, while maintaining an all-ages appropriate tone." - Newsarama

"For fans of the franchise, this is meaty, fun stuff to read, and for people not as enmeshed in the property, there's bad guys being bad in the most deliciously fun way possible. Can't beat that, and good work to Tom Taylor for making the brothers such a credible and enjoyable threat." - Comic Book Resources
