ON SALE THIS WEEK IN REVIEWS

Angel & Faith #14

"The most riveting development is Willow getting too close to the dark side. This is something Rebekah Isaacs brings out with her art. We do get to see a good bit of the Dark Willow and that may or may not play into Willow’s new path in her own series starting up November 7. This story, among other things, is a great set up for her new adventures." - Comics Grinder

"Those fans of evil Willow will not be disappointed as Rebekah Issacs, Dan Jackson, and Christos Gage do a fine job of unitedly bringing her to life in her full power." - Three If By Space

B.P.R.D. Hell on Earth: The Return of the Master #2

"Arcudi, Mignola, and Crook are turning out strong comic after strong comic, and this issue is no exception. With #100 just around the corner, this mini-series is as good a chance as any to say, "I was reading it back in the day, before it hit the triple digits." Fun stuff." - Comic Book Resources

"Mike Mignola’s universe has taken on a new level of intrigue and John Arcudi’s writing is top notch, this is all rounded off by Tyler Cook’s art which has really become the staple for the B.P.R.D. universe." - Bloody Disgusting

Dragon Age: Those Who Speak #2

"The industry needs to take note, if you want to do a comic book video game tie-in; you follow the blueprint that this title has set. If not , then enjoy mediocrity." - Comic Bastards

"Although Those Who Speak pulls a lot of details from all of the other medias it remains a solid place for new readers to cut their teeth. But beyond that it Those Who Speak is a love letter from David Gaider to all fans of the Dragon Age series." - Read Comic Books

The Goon #42

"The Goon #42 crackles with sheer joy over its witty sense of humor and pulpy storytelling. Weird, crazy, and entertaining – these are all the perfect words to describe Eric Powell’s unforgettable creation. The laugh-out-loud humor has always been what sets Eric Powell’s “The Goon” apart from other paranormal mystery books, and this issue showcases his ability to mesh genres." - Bloody Disgusting

"The cover is staggering, off-the-charts amazing. It was produced by the company that created the animated version of The Goon. The inside is just as good. It is a strange set-up for the coming conflict and it's spiked with crazy humor. Even the back-up story is a hoot. And it has the most unfortunate wardrobe malfunction. Just an excellent comic book." - Technorati

Mind MGMT #5

"With his uniquely impressionistic cartooning, subtle watercolors, intuitive sense of storytelling logic, and improbable mixture of sci-fi, espionage, and magical realism, the cartoonist has created some of the most memorably idiosyncratic graphic novels of the last decade." - Comics Alliance

"This is, arguably, one of the best comic books on the stands. It's a moving and gripping tale that delves into a character's life. The issue totally immerses the reader in a character's history and a major detail is revealed. It's a tragic tale about perception and choice.  There is nothing casual about this series as it demands the reader's attention. The back up stories are fantastic, as well. And the art is lovely with water colors." - Technorati

Star Wars: Darth Maul—Death Sentence #3

"Going off what we’ve seen so far in the series, I think there’s a good chance the end will be entertaining…one way or another. With good artwork and a good story, I giveDeath Sentence #3 a five out of five." - Roqoo Depot

"I can’t recommend this series highly enough. It is a ton of fun and several times I’ve described it as the best kind of Star Wars storytelling. Taylor, Redondo and Atiyeh are a great team and they work very well together as three fantastic issues will attest." - Read Comic Books
