DARK HORSE UNCOVERS "THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: HYRULE HISTORIA"| CBR

Dark Horse Editor Patrick Thorpe talks Zelda with CBR!  Shipping next week to American shores from Dark Horse Comics is Nintendo's "The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia," a 239-page art book and story guide that covers everything from "Majora's Mask" to "Ocarina of Time" and beyond. The book is already a runaway best-seller even before its release due to advance orders that sent it to the #1 spot on Amazon's sales chart, unseating the best-selling S&M phenomenon "50 Shades of Grey."

Brian Wood Introduces a 'Mini Event' with a 'Massive' Piece of John Paul Leon Artwork | Comics Alliance

Beginning with March's issue #10, Wood will create what he told ComicsAlliance was a kind of "mini-event" across three single-issue stories, each of which will be drawn by a different distinctly excellent artist: Declan Shalvey (Conan the Barbarian), Danijel Zezelj (DMZ), and Gary Erskine (War Stories, Dan Dare).

BLACK BEETLE, THE ANSWER Creators Swap for Dark Horse Fun | Newsarama

Here at Newsarama, we're loving the new take on heroes that Dark Horse is letting into the market, from pulp heroBlack Beetle to superhero The Answer. Along with giving heroes that have hope, Dark Horse, and more importantly their creators, are clearly having fun.

Mike Norton on ‘The Answer’, ‘Revival’, and ‘Battlepug’ | Nerd Bastards

In 2012, All-Star Marvel and DC artist Mike Norton further moved toward creator owned projects, continuining his Eisner Award winning Battlepug saga online (and in collected editions through Dark Horse) while also co-creating Image Comics’ rural noir zombie book Revival and Dark Horse Comics’ brand new costumed hero book, The Answer, which debuted this week.

THE WEEK IN REVIEW

The Answer! #1

"Overall, a great start to what looks like a really good series.  Good, solid, writing. Great art. It’s got everything that you wanted in a comic book but never thought to ask for. Just when you think you’ve got the answer, The Answer will change the question!" - Geeks of Doom

"The Answer! promises to be a great new story by Hopeless and Norton. The duo seems to have an interesting story to tell and it will be worth watching to see if they keep it from being predictable. I think Hopeless and Dent will surprise readers with this one. A solid story with great art makes this one to be on the lookout for 4.5/5" - Comic Book Therapy

Buffyverse Sampler

"At almost 100 pages for only $4.99, this is one of the best values you will find on New Comic Book Day this week!" - WhatChaReading.com

Dark Horse Presents #20

"McNeil’s “Finder: Third World”, on the other hand, is the collection’s shining star. Though I must admit that I haven’t been religiously following all sixteen preceding chapters, I found that it hardly prevented me from enjoying the hell out of it. McNeil’s world is captivating and unique and the art is crisp, clean, fluid, and whimsical. McNeil succeeds in crafting a story that’s clearly part of a larger whole, but making it feel satisfying all the same."  - Bloody Disgusting

The Massive #8

"Brian Wood’s The Massive is hitting a major point in its plot, and so far, Wood and the art team are making an incredible book that fans should be clamoring for every month." - EGM Now / Digital Noob

"On the surface, not a lot happens in this issue as Wood is tactfully putting all his characters in place for some grandiose moment.  But below the surface, what makes this an interesting read is that each of the characters in The Massive are planning and thinking something different than the others, and it’s all happening at the same time.  No one knows what any of the others are going to do, and this provides for some great tension building and reading enjoyment –not to mention, a great cliff-hanger." - Read Comic Books

Mind MGMT #7

"MIND MGMT" continues to entrance month after month; Kindt's story and art pull you in effortlessly and make you desperate for the next piece to the puzzle. If you haven't given "MIND MGMT" a whirl yet, this is a great place to begin. Highly recommended." - Comic Book Resources

"I’m astounded at how much stuff Matt Kindt puts into each issue and the fact that he does both the writing and artwork for this series….Kindt also “kindly” gives a great introduction for any reader that might’ve missed the earlier issues, so this is a great time to pick up one of the most fascinating and intriguing stories coming out of Dark Horse right now." - Read Comic Books

Number 13 #2

"Number 13 is like a Saturday morning cartoon, but reflecting Barack Obama-era diversity in terms of the characters and players.  After reading the first issue, I was careful not to over-praise.  Now, I know I’m right.  Number 13 is simply fun to read.  I can’t get enough, and I want to spread the Robert Love all over your reading list." - Comic Book Bin

"Personally, I’m very happy with the art. It’s an unusual style for this type of story, but something about it works incredibly well. The coloring gives it a cartoon look, but the subject matter remains serious at all times. I love that it’s attached to this story and really sets it apart from other books on the market." - Comic Bastards
