THE WEEK IN REVIEW

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 9 #21

"…this installment is very enjoyable, and the fandom will eat it up." - Bloody Disgusting

"Chambliss nailed the voice of each character and how they interact, and Jeanty provides the perfect visuals to make the moments hit the way they need to." - Fanboy Comics

Creepy Comics #12

"Dark Horse does an excellent job with Creepy because they balance the old, the new, and the comic. This issue maintains that well, and I feel that this particular book would appeal to more than just the horror fan." - Comic Bastards

"With tons of horror and wicked humor, “Creepy ” #12 has all that for readers and so much more. The “Creepy” anthology series always has such great storytellers to match with its wonderful black and white artwork." - Bloody Disgusting

Star Wars #5

"Wood does a wonderful thing here as he grows the Star Wars universe from A New Hope to Empire Strikes Back right in front of our eyes. We're seeing more bounty hunters and hearing further talk about the nature of the Force, but in little juicy snippets that would titillate any Star Wars faithful. And that's just what this series is about: sending us on a grand adventure with new stakes, new characters, and new dangers, yet it all feels as familiar as your favorite pair of Star Wars pajama pants." - IGN

"This is the Star Wars comic we've been looking for. Brian Wood knows and understands the characters. He's able to write each as they should be written. Carlos D'Anda's art gets better and better with each issue. We need to find a way to keep Wood and D'Anda locked onto writing Star Wars comics." - Comic Vine

X #1

"X hovers over the majority of the issue as a sort of vengeful ghost, dealing out brutal vigilante justice as he sees fit. X finds himself in a vulnerable position towards the book's end as his path crosses with Leigh's and I can't wait to see how this reluctant partnership between two exceptionally different characters will play out. X #1 is a promising new start and it's an issue not to be missed." - IGN

"X" #1 is almost certainly not for those who want something tame. Instead, this feels like a mash-up between "Punisher MAX" and "The Question," with an eye towards violence set alongside a fight against corruption. If you're ready to take a bit of gore, definitely take a look." - Comic Book Resources
