Dark Horse Publishes LuVisi's LAST MAN STANDING: KILLBOOK OF A BOUNTY HUNTER

From the mind of Dan LuVisi comes a brand-spanking-new intellectual property. Where most comics start off with a first issue, Last Man Standing starts off with a 272-page bible, Killbook of a Bounty Hunter, that sets up the entire universe of the LMS world.

Interview with “Last Man Standing” Writer/Artist Dan LuVisi | Nerdist

The Killbook is everything Gabriel (and we) need to know about before the eventual journey, and at 272 pages, LuVisi leaves no stone unturned. The book, published by Dark Horse, is getting re-released in December, but it can be pre-ordered now.

The comic will include one of Capps' original comics, making the 15-year-old the youngest cartoonist ever published by Dark Horse.

THE WEEK IN REVIEW

Akaneiro #1

"Akaneiro encourages us to go an play the American McGee game, and in that sense it has achieved its primary goal. Yet it does so because it creates such a rich and inviting world that one can't help but wanting to explore it in more depth." - Behind The Panels

"This book is definitely one to grab if youre into an Americanized anime. It has a Ronin like feel to the art with a twisted take on a classic fairy tale. Hopefully we will see just how sharp grandmas teeth truly are in the next issue." - Bloody Disgusting

Dark Horse Presents #24

"DHP is always a treat, and issue #24 is no exception. You're sure to find a story, a writer, an artist, that piques your interest." - Unleash the Fanboy

"How can you not like this monthly anthology? Or any anthology really, but in particular Dark Horse manages to produce a high quality and interesting anthology month in and month out. Sure a lot of the books manage to get collected in to one-shots at the end or even do well enough to get a continuation outside of the series, but there is cohesiveness to the production." - Comic Bastards

 The Deep Sea (one-shot)

"The script provides an excellent setting to an ongoing world, and an interesting cast Id like to see more of. Combine that with some stellar art, and some truly incredible beasts of the deep, and "The Deep Sea" ongoing series could show a lot of promise." - Bloody Disgusting

"The Mist meets 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea meets The Abyss in this exciting & terrifying new one shot from the writers of Retrovirus. An underwater adventure 50 years in the making, as deep sea explorers discover a rift through time & dimensions and unsuspectingly unleash giant ocean creatures that wreck havoc on the high seas." - Comics the Gathering

House of Gold & Bones #2

"With a cast of weird characters, “House of Gold and Bones” #2 continues to be an interesting journey into a nightmarish reality. Though questions remain unanswered, I look forward to the development of the mystery in the next issue." - Bloody Disgusting

"While “House of Gold and Bones”#2 introduces more characters and terrifying situations, it also raises more questions. This is not only for the main character, but also for the reader. Taylor creates this psychological, as well as horrifying, reality for his character. So far, he has pulled it off masterfully, which means you will be in for Issue #3 after this one." - Comic Monsters

Lobster Johnson: Satan Smells A Rat

"The art in this issue is amazing. Not only does it capture the tone of the story, but it really pulls readers right in in thanks to this wonderfully detailed setting. This is a fantastic issue and if you have never before read a Lobster Johnson story, this is an awesome place to become acquainted with this character." - Comic Vine

"Lobster Johnson: Satan Smells a Rat is a great read for a rainy day. A self-contained story that requires nothing more than 2 eyes and a noggin'. The book would be a throw-away to anyone else, but the creative team managed to convey a number of powerful themes in just 22 short pages making this book definitely worth a grab." - Comics The Gathering

The Massive #12

"In the end, the one who's in perpetual progress with this comic is the reader. As we consumers become more embedded in the world that Wood and his fellow creators build; as we dig deeper into the people he writes and the incredibly complicated and morally compromised panoply that Wood designed, we are slowly, gradually changed. Good fiction has the power to subtly affect our perceptions, forcing our minds to progress in new directions." - Comics Bulletin

"Overall, The Massive #12 gives us a lot of information, but definitely steps away from previous issues in tone and content. Only 40% through the complete story, we seem to have reached an end to the first act where some books would be wrapping up in their entirety. Full of plenty more mysteries to come, The Massive appears ready to take another turn next issue, as the team arrives in New York, and where that leads them emotionally is anyones guess. I for one am eager to find out." - Comicosity

Mind MGMT #11

"It's because of issue like this were the excitement is too much; it's too much to read and be forced to wait another month. I'll tell you right now when the completed series is collected into an omnibus; I will be the first in line to buy it. If you're still not reading this series then that's fine, you're only missing out on comic history in the making. I guarantee that by the end of this series it will be on everyone's must read list." - Comic Bastards

"The art – Again, I think it is perfect that Matt handles both the writing and the art. I know it is a lot of work, but it is well worth it from my (a fan)perspective. It means high quality, albeitquirky, consistency from issue to issue. I will go as far to say that at this point, no other art would fit this book." - Unleash the Fanboy

Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi: Prisoner of Bogan #5

"We close out this issue with a splash page that I have been wanting to see since the first issue.  Ostrander and Duursema have created an exciting series showing us the earliest days of the Jedi Order and I can’t wait for Book III." - EU Cantina

"Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi – Prisoner of Bogan #5 carries within it an impressive climax that does more than enough right to keep me and its primary followers thoroughly engaged for what comes next. Highly recommended."- Unleash the Fanboy

Star Wars: Legacy #3

"I really like where Legacy, Vol. 2 is going. There is a lot for Legacy fans to sink their teeth into, but the story is written in a manner that Star Wars fans new to this era of the galaxy can follow quite easily without getting lost. I suspect that casual comic geeks, particularly those with an interest in classic and nostalgic comics, may find this of interest as well. Give this one a look, you might dig it." - Geeks of Doom

"Everything is coming together nicely this issue. Those looking for the political side of things alluded to last issue shouldn't hold their breath, but I can't see that being an issue either. Essentially this issue gets the band together as tensions build into the next issue. Considering we get a gnarly looking alien beastie and a full throttle script I don't see how you could complain either way." - Adventures in Poor Taste
