THE WEEK IN REVIEW

Amala’s Blade #2

"Amala's Blade, however, is a striking example of what more comics need to read like, what more comics need to look like, and what more comics need to be like. It effortlessly gets things right that entire companies try to justify their failures at. When they're not too busy planning thier next twenty part crossover, some people need to stop talking about what comics can't do and read Amala's Blade. Because it proves them wrong." - Comic Book Bin

"There's so much to love about this series so far, from its effortless world-building to its concise storytelling and confident art. And if the last page of this issue was any indication, there's a good deal of surprises to look forward to as this series moves swiftly to its end. “Amala's Blade” is one gorgeous and entertaining series, and fast looking to be the best high fantasy on the shelves this year." - Multiversity

Angel & Faith #22 (Steve Morris cover)

"Although I'm relatively new to this series, the well scripted dialogue and the strong character dynamics makes this an enjoyable issue to read. Now it's time for a little action." - Unleash the Fanboy

"This was a great read, and if you’re a fan of the series, or Angel in general, you need to hop on this train before the final issue!" - Nerdy But Flirty

B.P.R.D.: Vampire #3

"If you missed the first two issues you should be just fine jumping right into this one. The story is accessible and it is written in a way that makes it very easy for readers to car about these characters and become interested and invested in them and their respective stories rather quickly. If you love suspense and adventure then I highly recommend you give B.P.R.D: VAMPIRE #3 a look this week." - Comic Vine

"For the love of all that is good in the world, buy this comic!" - Multiversity Comics

Dragon Age: Until We Sleep #3

"All in all, to a Dragon Age fan, Dragon Age: Those Who Speak is a must read. I haven’t read a whole lot of dark fantasy comics that work. None that really make sense and flow naturally. This comic does it all. " - Read Comic Books

"Dragon Age: Until We Sleep #3 is not perfect, but it's hugely entertaining. Whether you're an ardent follower or just a newcomer to this fantasy realm this is one mini-series you should checkout. Recommended." - Unleash the Fanboy

King Conan: Hour of the Dragon #1

"After a long, long wait, The Hour of the Dragon has come. And it does not disappoint. Robert E. Howard's only Conan novel adapted by the team who have been making the finest Conan comics for their generation -- King Conan: The Hour of the Dragon is a masterwork." - Comics Bulletin

"10 out of 10. Happy to see veteran writer Timothy Truman return to a more visceral take on the material. The characters speak rich, Howard-like dialogue that is purposefully over-the-top--a Conan story should evoke the 1930s not modern speech. Tomas Giorello keeps the action moving with characters rippling with muscles, flowing robes, and intricate but grimy details. This issue is mostly set-up, but is building to be a Conan comic worthy of the name." - Newsarama

The Last of Us: American Dreams #2

"Hicks' characters are expressive and full of emotion. She's able to convey a great deal of information through body language and facial work. Even the juxtaposition of muted colors with brighter hues in Ellie's daydreams go a long way to bringing this world to life." - IGN

"This series, more than most prequel comics, is serving as a good primer to The Last of Us. Every issue I'm genuinely more excited for the game and feel like they are introducing elements and telling a self-enclosed story that will neither interfere or override the game's story, but in fact enhance it." - Fanboy Comics
