THE WEEK IN REVIEW

B.P.R.D. Hell on Earth #108: Wasteland part 2

"The writing and the art are stellar, making this a top notch entry into the B.P.R.D. canon." - Bloody Disgusting

"Overall, another solid issue of B.P.R.D.It's a very tense and atmospheric issue with some great action and chase scenes. I'm loving this series, definitely one of the best currently on the stands. I mean, what other story has zombies and monsters in the same comic?" - Unleash the Fanboy

Baltimore: The Inquisitor

"I can hardly imagine a more exciting way to combine World War I, vampires, the Inquisition, and witches than this one-shot, which is well-worth the time. Baltimore really is one of those rare characters whose books you have to wait months for, but which always pay off as a visual and narrative odyssey." - Graphic Policy

"Although not as well known as Hellboy, Lord Baltimore does have my vote for Mignola’s best work. If you like storytelling, you will be entertained by the Baltimore series, including “The Inquisitor”." - Comic Bastards

Captain Midnight #0

""Captain Midnight" #0 is a very solid start from Williamson and crew. The issue is rounded out with a sneak peek at issue #1, due out next month. All in all, "Captain Midnight" is a relatively fresh story with familiarity that makes the introductory story more palatable." - Comic Book Resources

"I really didnt know what I was getting myself into when I cracked open Captain Midnight #0, but now Im aching to get my hands on the next issue and watch as Dark Horses talented artists and writer bring this Golden Age bad-ass back to life." - Graphic Policy

Conan the Barbarian #17

"Conan the Barbarian #17 is further proof why it’s one of the 5 books that I wait for every month. There’s only a handful of books that, month in and out, I set my calendar by. This is one of them, and if you’re reading it, I’m sure it’s one of yours too." - Geeks of Doom

"The beauty of the script by Brian Wood can be boiled down to one simple word: balance.  The author handily takes our lead characters down this crazy and somewhat convoluted journey but manages to keep the path quite clear."  - Unleash the Fanboy

Dark Horse Presents #25

"There's more chapters of "Trekker", "King's Road", "Bloodhound" and "Nexus", but there couldn't be a more perfect example of Dark Horse's ability to pick up future talent than the one-page story by 15-year-old Emma T. Capps. Simple and sketch comedy based in its approach, it still shows a sophisticated knowledge of structure and more importantly, a love of comics. It's great to see Dark Horse encouraging talent very early in a career. Who knows: one day Capps could be the next big thing, and this issue will be worth a fortune?" - Newsarama

"Each issue comes with quirky, undiluted excursions into the minds of uniquely talented creators, usually with immersive new serials or idiosyncratic short stories but also in the form of recurring, cult favorite characters and properties for which Dark Horse has served as caretaker for many years." - Comics Alliance

Dream Thief #2

"Dark and dirty revenge appears to be the way of The Dream Thief. I like how all these seemingly random events appear to be connected. The hooks at the end of each issue are great and remind me of the classic TV show Quantum Leap in that everything from the previous adventure has been resolved and oh boy the next tale looks even better than the last one. This is series is a fun and bloody version Ill be tuning into next month." - Bloody Disgusting

"Artist Greg Smallwood continues a very controlled yet elaborate composition heavy style in this book. It's much appreciated, because how often have we seen people shooting and punching each other in a simple way? The composition of the page keeps you interested and the flow of the story always moving forward." - Adventures in Poor Taste

Edgar Allan Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher #2

"This take, while definitely not safe for work, is one of the best I've seen, ramping up the decay until everything quite literally collapses on itself. Horror fans need to add this one to their collection." - Newsarama

"In “Edgar Allan Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher” #2, writer/artist Richard Corben delivers another truly terrifying adaptation. I can't wait to see which of Poe's macabre tales Corben does next. I'm gunning for “Murders In The Rue Morgue”." - Bloody Disgusting

House of Gold & Bones #3

"In his musical crossover to comics, Stone Sour’s Corey Taylor takes his readers into an nightmarish hellhole about the fear of the unknown." - Bloody Disgusting

Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Ninth Assassin #3

" I’ve been burnt out on this franchise for a long time now, but a series like this is quick to remind me why I liked it in the first place. And if that’s not enough of a reason for you to buy it, then get it because Vader is a bad ass!" - Comic Bastards

"Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Ninth Assassin #3 has action, mystery, and Darth Vader at his lightsaber wielding best. What else can this Star Wars freak ask for?" - Culture Mass
