THE WEEK IN REVIEW

Captain Midnight #8

"Captain Midnight #8 is the type of adventure yarn that I hope to find when I travel to my local shop." - Unleash the Fanboy

"If you are not following Captain Midnight or Project Black Sky, now is a perfect time to climb on board. Things are preparing to get active and you won't want to miss any of the action or excitement that promises to be delivered in coming issues." - Comic Bastards

Furious #2

""Furious" #1 was off to a good start, but with "Furious" #2 I feel like this series has clicked fully into place. Glass and Santos' creation is very much a superhero for our time. Mixing our obsession over media figures with a smart application of superpowers, "Furious" #2 is confidently moving forward." - Comic Book Resources

"Although there are one or two moments when the exposition feels more epic than the situation warrants and the lineweight could be heavier in the action sequences to help Furious "pop," I think Glass and Santos are putting together a thought-provoking take on superheroes in the real world." - Newsarama

Halo: Escalation #3

"Halo: Escalation #3 is a nice, fast paced, work that is a good thing." - Unleash the Fanboy

"Shooting Covies or Prometheans in the face can be fun, but this book looks to dive deeper than that which is what we look for in all Halo stories." - Geeked Out Nation

King Conan: The Conqueror #1

"This book is dirty, nasty, gritty, and quite possibly the best Conan book Dark Horse Comics has ever put out." - Newsarama

"King Conan: The Conqueror #1 is a triumph of execution, that places worthwhile odds within our hero's epic quest. Highly recommended." - Unleash the Fanboy

Mass Effect: Foundation #8

"The art is futuristic and stylish. You understand what is going and how it looks because of the art. It is muy Bueno." - Unleash the Fanboy

Mind Mgmt #19

"Readers will not be able to put “Mind MGMT” #19 down for a second. The forces of good and evil are gathering in the series and I can't wait to see what happens when both sides clash." - Bloody Disgusting

"I will not spoil the story, nor perplex any new readers, so all plot items are off the table. I will, on the other hand, ask you this: How many other comic stories offer a plot with FOUR different perspectives on the same 6-panel page?" - Unleash the Fanboy

Pariah #1

"Tense, suspenseful action (as opposed to shoot-em-up/car chase action) + sharp characters + an interesting world I want to learn more about = a series that has landed itself on my pull list." - Comic Spectrum

"This first issue is an incredibly strong start to what should be a great new series, and it'll be very interesting to see where things go from here." - All Comic

Serenity: Leaves on the Wind #2

"Georges Jeanty continues to be a major player for big titles at Dark Horse, and his art remains sharp in this Whedon adaptation. Working with characters that look like real life counterparts can be difficult, but Jeanty takes the challenge in stride and succeeds"it helps that he's had experience before with Buffy." - Newsarama

"This creative team have definitely done right by the source material so far. Leaves on the Wind #2 was exciting, emotional, and moved the story forward in a number of interesting ways. Whether or not youre a fan of Firefly, this is a really fun book with a great story. Get on board the good ship Serenity!"  - All Comic

Star Wars: Legacy #12

"This is a great example of a bridging issue that doesn't simply move the characters from point A to point B, but adds to the backstory and sets up some big future reveals." - Adventures in Poor Taste

"Star Wars Legacyis essential reading for anyStar Warsfan, and it's one of the best tie-in comics on shelves at the moment. Highly Recommended." - All Comic

The Massive #20

"Strong story and strong character make The Massive one of Dark Horse's most underrated titles which comic book fans should jump on immediately." - Unleash the Fanboy

"Wood's post-crash world is still just as big as it was before, and he continues to find intriguing ways to explore it, while building up enough history and characters within the context of the series to keep it exciting." - Comic Book Resources

Tomb Raider #1

"Simone, Selma and Gedeon's "Tomb Raider" brings Lara Croft back to comics with a gripping, fast-paced new story. With a clear voice and style, this debut issue is both visually stunning and fun. Fans new and old will enjoy the latest chapter in Lara's story." - Comic Book Resources

"Tomb Raider #1, by writer Gail Simone and artist Nicolás Daniel Selma, is meant to be a good jumping on point for new readers who haven't necessarily played the most recent game to completion." - IGN

Vandroid #1

"Don't be a 'bone smoker' and make sure to grab this book." - Rhymes With Geek

"If you're a fan of the 80s, B-movies, or over the top action stories, this is one for you. Vandroid sets things up nicely and shows a lot of promise. It looks like we're in for four more issues of fun." - Comic Book Therapy
