Alien Haiku Contest

10/27/2014 10:30am
Twitter friends and fans of THE FIFTH BEATLE!
Since its publication in November 2013, The Fifth Beatle has been garnering international media attention—most recently being nominated for two distinguished Eisner Awards (all comics professionals can vote at eisnervote.com)!
Dark Horse Comics and writer/producer Vivek J. Tiwary have teamed up to bring you a chance to win a gorgeous limited edition of The Fifth Beatle for your book collection!
All you have to do to enter is tweet a Beatles-themed haiku using hashtag #5BHaiku. Dark Horse Comics will choose three finalists, and writer Vivek J. Tiwary will choose the grand prize winner! The two runners-up will receive digital editions of The Fifth Beatle through Dark Horse Digital.
What is a haiku? It's a poem of seventeen syllables, in three lines of five, seven, and five.
The limited edition of this groundbreaking graphic novel features a numbered tip-in sheet signed by creators Vivek J. Tiwary, Andrew C. Robinson, and Kyle Baker, along with a bonus section including unique Beatles and Brian Epstein memorabilia and behind-the-scenes sketches, a textured cover, and a special slipcase. Only 1,500 copies of this edition were made available.
FINE PRINT: No purchase necessary. Contest is not endorsed, sponsored, or administered by Twitter. Must be 18 years of age by entry date. Contest entries only accepted if submitted by 11:59pm (PDT), May 11, 2014. Three winners will be selected by Dark Horse's staff based on merit and opinion from all applicable entries. Grand Prize winner will be selected by writer Vivek Tiwary and notified by May 14, 2014. Entry becomes the property of Dark Horse upon receipt. Entry constitutes agreement by winners to be publicized and permission to use each winner's name for the purposes of promotion of the contest without further compensation. Contest void where prohibited.
ALIEN comes home with you!

We're celebrating the release of our Fire and Stone crossover series by giving you the chance to win a killer Alien prize pack.

To enter, tweet your best Alien-themed haiku, tag us @DarkHorseComics, and use the hashtag #AlienHaiku, by October 30th, 2014. We'll choose six finalists, and our esteemed Dark Horse Comics editor in chief Scott Allie will choose the three Grand Prize winners.

Each of our three Alien Haiku Contest winners will receive all the #1 issues from the Fire and Stone series (in digital and print editions), as well as a copy of the new Alien: Isolation video game in the platform of their choice (Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, or Xbox One).

What is a haiku, you ask? It's a poem of seventeen syllables, in three lines of five, seven, and five.
Here's a poorly written example:

Lonely Alien
Don't you have facehugger friends?
Please don't eat me, sir

Ready. Set. Tweet!
