Two weeks ago, we talked about the distinctive cover designer of The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Omnibus Edition, Bunpei Yorifuji. You might call him the Chip Kidd of Japan; in fact, when Amazon did its “Best Book Covers of 2009” nominations, Kurosagi was the only manga on the list. When writer Eiji Otsuka visited the Dark Horse booth at Anime Expo last year, he brought with special sheets of Yorifuji’s cover design stickers to give away—you can see them by the water bottle on the table. But what if you couldn’t make it to the con? Well, we have one sheet left over—so now’s your chance to win it!

Check it out: the brown stickers are from the first ten volumes of the regular Kurosagi series (the ones in the top row are from the three volumes collected in the Kurosagi Omnibus Book One). The two black stickers are from volumes 11 and 12 of the regular Kurosagi series, as Yorifuji switched the background after the first 10. What about the gray stickers? They’re from the first volume of a Kurosagi spinoff series, Kunio Matsuoka Apparition Extermination, set in early 20^th-century Japan. In fact, the cast of Kunio Matsuoka is introduced in a story at the end of book two of the Kurosagi omnibus edition. The spinoff is something else we’d like to release in the future, if possible…which is just another reason we’re making this effort to promote Kurosagi through the new omnibus editions!
