In 1953 Hellboy and his mentor Bruttenholm travel across England and confront the phantom hand of a murderer, a demonic water spirit, and some of the most horrible figures of British folklore. Back in the States, Hellboy rejoins the team from 1952 as a monster with possible ties to an earlier mission ravages a suburban community.

The creative team may have changed from the previous book, but as always, the central appeal of Hellboy and his universe remains.

"I find Hellboy comics often live or die by the artwork. I’ve said in many a review that Hellboy is never better than when drawn by his creator, but I may have to eat my words a bit. Paolo and Joe Rivera can craft one hell of a good line, and this artwork is phenomenal." - Comicosity

"One minute with this book and you’ll be hooked. It’s an inter-dimensional sucker punch of Americana, occultism, and awesomeness straight to your eager face. From incompetent 1950s police detectives to Hellboy hockey checking demons, it’s got everything a growing fan needs and a diehard fan craves. Check it out!" - Comicverse

"I think Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. has established itself firmly and it’s definitely vying for the position of my favorite Mignola series. It’s got such a range of tone, I can’t help being wooed by it." - Multiversity Comics

"There’s action up front, some spooky reflection in the rear, and if you’ve never read a page of Hellboy — this is not a bad place to start. The wider lore and backstory isn’t needed but if you enjoy it, this might be your ticket to the big backlog." - AiPT!

"Like the story, the art is polished but violent. The monster’s arrival at a child-filled school is almost iconic as it is simple." - Graphic Policy
