Discover the backstory of Sir Edward Grey, occult adviser to the Queen of England. These plot points will catch you up on one of the most intriguing stories in the Hellboy universe!

1. In 1868 a young Edward Grey was taken under the wing of Lord Norcross after destroying a werewolf that was terrorizing West Sussex. Norcross paid for Grey's education, and got him started investigating occult incidents in London.

2. After foiling a witch coven’s plot to kill Queen Victoria in 1879, Grey was knighted, appointed Her Majesty’s London Agent for the investigation of occult matters, and earned the less-flattering nickname Witchfinder.

3. An early case pit Grey against members of the Heliopic Brotherhood of Ra, who, led by August Swain, killed Grey's friends, an eccentric known only as the Captain, and the medium Mary Wolf.

4. Grey continues to investigate the paranormal, with special interest in the increasingly bizarre activities of the Heliopic Brotherhood, pitting him against senior members of the order like Swain and Lord Adam Glaren.
