Manga Monday: Oreimo Comic Anthology Hits Stores This Week!

10/17/2016 4:21pm
This week, our 11th book in the Oreimo series hits stores: after the original four-volume Oreimo and six-volume Oreimo: Kuroneko comes the Oreimo Comic Anthology! It’s a one-shot Oreimo project that stands out in various ways from the previous books—as you can see, it’s got a larger page size, and also more color pages (eight) than any previous book; this time on slick paper.
Whereas Sakura Ikeda drew the artwork in Oreimo and Oreimo: Kuroneko, Ikeda is just one of 20 artists who contribute short stories and illustrations to the Oreimo Comic Anthology! Others include Shakugan no Shana’s Ayato Sasakura, Spice and Wolf’s Keito Koume, Sword Art Online’s abec, and Strike Witches’ Shin Kyogoku. Several of the contributors in Oreimo Comic Anthology focus on Ayase, who’s some people’s favorite character, but who was pretty much absent from Oreimo: Kuroneko (perhaps because everyone’s life was complicated enough already ^_^). Oreimo Comic Anthology hits the direct market this week, and should be in your bookstores soon!
