It's that ghoulish time of year when curling up with a hair-raising horror comic is just the ticket! If you're looking for some spooktacular recommendations for Halloween reading, let the Dark Horse staff help you out! Presenting the Dark Horse Comics Spooky Halloween Staff Picks. We will be adding a new staff pick from now until Halloween. We're going behind the scenes at the Dark Horse Comics offices to find out what's at the top of everyone's horror reading list. Join us, if you dare!

First up we have Kelly, our Marketing Coordinator. Here's her pick for Dark Horse Halloween reading!

"Just when you thought the dark woods couldn’t get any creepier, Harrow County takes terror to the next level! It’s a tale that’s both wonderfully endearing and spine-tingling at the same time, perfect for this spooky season! Writer Cullen Bunn and artist Tyler Crook are a match made in horror heaven (hell?). Thanks for the nightmares, guys!" -Kelly

Here is Assistant Editor, Katii O'Brien!

"If you like to revisit classic horror around Halloween, you can’t do better than Spirits of the Dead, Richard Corben’s adaptation of fourteen stories and poems by Edgar Allan Poe. It’s gothic, it’s grotesque, and it’s a perfect matching of two masters of horror. And if you find yourself hooked by Corben’s work, make sure to check out his new horror series on sale this December, Shadows on the Grave." -Katii

This is Allyson! She works in Production as a Digital Art Technician! Here's her spooky staff pick!

"Bernie Wrightson's Frankenstein is a horror classic combined with incredibly intricate, and atmospheric pen an ink illustrations by Bernie Wrighton. Get inspired for #inktober!" -Allyson

Dustin, our Social Media Coordinator, is a huge horror fan. Check out his spooky pick!

“To me, the scariest horror is rooted in history and the terrifying and tragic tale of Sarah Winchester is no exception. Lately, there’s been a trend of comics being adapted to film or TV, but House of Penance is already available in its most perfect medium thanks to Peter J. Tomasi’s haunting script and Ian Bertram’s unique and beautiful art." -Dustin

Kari is our Manager of International Licensing Sales and she knows great horror when she sees it. Here's her pick for Halloween reading.

Death Follows… and creeps and lurks and burrows and festers in this gruesome and chilling Southern Gothic bildungsroman. Poor Birdie…poor, poor Birdie…" -Kari
