Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! Comes to Dark Horse Manga - Celebrate with a Giveaway

This September, Dark Horse will release Volume 1 of Sumito Oowara’s Keep Your Hands off Eizouken!, the manga that inspired the current Crunchyroll anime series! See the announcement here.

We've got a special prize to give away in celebration, plus prize packs of recent Dark Horse Manga volumes for lucky winners who join us in some fun on Twitter.

Eizouken Page Protector

We’ve put aside a Japan-only Eizouken page protector (also known as a clear file) that came with the magazine where Eizouken is serialized in Japan, Shogakukan’s Monthly Big Comic Spirits (three different issues of which are shown in the photo on the upper right and left, and the lower right). On the lower left is the page protector itself, which features the same cover art that will be on vol. 1 of the manga! In one shot, a sheet of paper is inserted to show how the main characters are on the foreground level. When the sheet is removed, the background becomes visible. You guessed it—the Eizouken page protector is designed like a classic animation cel!

CONTEST CLOSED, thank you to all those who participated and congratulations to winners @kpossibles, @scott_springer, @jbrizzle92,@DunnDorr, and @daphhime!

How to Enter

1. Be following @DarkHorseComics on Twitter
2. Retweet our contest tweet
3. Reply to our contest tweet by telling us about an anime that motivated you to create something yourself, and what you created--see more below:

In Eizouken, we see how Asakusa was inspired to create worlds as a child by watching an anime show based on Hayao Miyazaki’s 1978 TV series Future Boy Conan.

Has there been an anime from the past (or more recently) that inspired YOU to create and to think creatively—whether you’re a writer, an artist, a designer, a filmmaker, or someone who works in engineering, science or another field?

Share your inspiration with us: tell us about a scene or a setting you saw in anime that gave you motivation to make new things yourself, and how it worked out! We’ll give away the page protector to one of the aspiring creators out there.

The grand prize page protector winner will also win assorted copies of recent Dark Horse Manga volumes, including Elfen Lied, What's Michael, Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles, Mob Psycho 100, and more. Four additional winners will each receive assorted manga prize packs. Winners will be drawn at random from qualified entries.

Giveaway opens at 3:00 pm Pacific time on Tuesday, March 23, 2020, and closes at 5:00 pm on Thursday, March 25, 2020. Winners will be randomly drawn and notified by Monday, March 30, 2020.
