Rock Out with Jenny Zero: An Ear-Melting Music Playlist

Chase Your Shot of Jenny Zero Comics with A Delicious Playlist

Creators Dave Dwonch, Brockton McKinney, Magenta King, Megan Huang, and DAM are introducing the world to a hard-partying hero in the new comics miniseries Jenny Zero. Music plays a big role in the writing and within the pages of the comics, so the team has created playlists to go along with each issue!

Check back each month as the new issue and new playlist are released. All songs will be added to the playlist on the Dark Horse Spotify channel.

All issues of Jenny Zero can be pre-ordered and/or purchased at comic shops and will be available on digital comics platforms as well. Cue up this playlist as you sit back with your comics!

Not everyone writes to music, but I sure as all hell do.

I love lining up a stack of records that in some way remind and inspire me of the impending story at hand, and then spinning them loudly, as the keys get smashed. So, without further ado, here's a look at why we chose these ear-melters on our official Dark Horse Spotify playlist for Jenny Zero #1.

Issue #1 Playlist - Listen on Spotify

The Darkness: One Way Ticket to Hell and Back
Our protagonist wakes up! It's a one-way ticket to Hell... and back. The rough and tumble night of drinking, and then the always accompanying savage hangover.

Madonna: Into the Groove
Time to party our asses off at the club, and no one does it better than Madge. Crank this one and then re-read the double page 8-9 spread and you'll hear what I'm preachin'.

Mega Colossus: Atlas
Playin' in her headphones! Jenny's song-of-choice to get mega-pumped, in-the-zone and destroy some colossal creatures. Mental metal from some amazingly mad musicians.

Anthrax: Earth on Hell
The Jagokai have made landfall! Death! Destruction! Drugs! This is another mind-ripping track perfectly suited to drunkenly saving the world.

Faith No More: Take This Bottle
The morning after the bender, amirite? Track five for a reason, we need the cooldown... and maybe a little hair of the dog.

The Pixies: Gigantic
Applicable in so many ways. Big fights, enormous problems, and a gargantuan secret. P.S. I love you, Kim Deal.

The Distillers: City of Angels
The Remoras have already arrived--which means the Jagokai can't be far behind! Time to punch up this dastardly ditty, strap Nemo on your arm, belt a quick shot, and then prepare to kick the living s&%t outta some massive monsters.

45 Grave: Partytime
A real favorite, as this one pulls double duty, serving as a drinkin' tune as well as an incentive to deal a hardcore bad guy beatdown. Crank to 11 for maximum effectiveness. Apologies to The Return of the Living Dead for the steal, but Jenny insisted it be included.

Heart: Barracuda
This creature is known for its fearsome appearance and ferocious behavior. Remind you of anyone? Prowling the city, fish gun in hand, Jenny is dead set on showing us why she is the real apex predator.

The Pogues: If I Should Fall From Grace with God
One of the greatest drinking songs ever. A cheery sing-along tune set to the lyrical equivalent of a last will and testament. Our antihero can belt out every word by heart.

Queen: Another One Bites the Dust
At the end of every successful battle and victory over the Jagokai, Jenny throws this one on en route to the pub. Her swagger is absolutely palpable.

David Bowie: Suffragette City
At the end of the day, ass firmly planted on a bar stool, this is the jukebox number that gets Jenny's quarter. Throw back a cold one and let the Bowie wash over you, as you savor another successful day of drinking and protecting the earth from hell beasts.

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy the songs, and stay tuned for the next scorching playlist when Jenny Zero issue two hits the stands!
