Dark Horse Comics is extremely proud to announce Beasts of Burden creators Evan Dorkin & Jill Thompson have been nominated for the 2011 Anthony Award for Best Graphic Novel!

The award-winning comics creators Evan Dorkin (Milk & Cheese) and Jill Thompson (Scary Godmother) first introduced these heroic characters in the anthologies The Dark Horse Book of Hauntings, Witchcraft, the Dead, and Monsters, for which they won coveted Eisner Awards for Best Short Story and Best Painter.

The Anthony’s are awarded every year at Bouchercon, the Anthony Boucher Memorial World Mystery Convention.  2011 marks the 25th year of it’s existence.  Bouchercon is held in the fall annually in a different city by a staff of volunteers.

Bouchercon nominates and votes the Anthony Awards for excellence in crime fiction, including but not limited to: Best Novel, Best First Novel, Best Short Story, Best Critical Non-Fiction, and Best Paperback Original.  2011 also marks the first year Bouchercon is awarding a Best Graphic Novel category.

Bouchercon will take place in St. Louis, September 15th – 18th.
