THE WEEK IN REVIEW

 Baltimore: The Infernal Train #1

"The backdrop of World War I Europe and the masking of the undead as plague proves a masterful stroke of storytelling that makes this book a must read." - Comic Bastards

"Overall, this new series for Baltimore is off to a fantastic start. It's a really well done vampire story, which we could use more of, right? It doesn't shamelessly use the vampire title for sales, it's a really compelling story." - Unleash the Fanboy

Catalyst Comix #3

"Catalyst Comix #3 continues the series hot streak. It's a psychedelic thrill-ride made greater by its originality and ability to throw old conventions out the window." - Comics The Gathering

"The issue ends with the lines, “Change Is Happening! Keep Reading!” Pretty safe bet anyone who made it this far certainly will. This series is fun and there is plenty in the story and characters to keep one interested. There is a strong feeling that there will be a payoff down the road." - All Comic

Michael Avon Oeming's The Victories #5

"The "Transhuman" arc may be complete, but it is clear this is just the set up to a larger storyline for Issue #6 and beyond. Hopefully, Oeming will continue to focus more on providing the type of character study within the future issues of The Victories as he does here given that issues of body image and superheroes failing to answer the call to heroics out of fear are not the subjects of many writers tackle in the comics genre. At the least, I know those are the types of different stories I am most interested in reading, and I suspect others are as well." - Newsarama

"Oeming is setting up what might be a much more powerful story than these first five issues, which is saying a lot when you consider how many series pull out their strongest punches in the first arc." - Adventures in Poor Taste

The Star Wars #1

"J.W. Rinzler’s “The Star Wars” manages to create a wildly original tale in a familiar universe, and show us what could have been a much more complex and imaginative version of the Star War’s universe." -Bloody Disgusting

"As a piece of history and its relationship to the Star Wars franchise, it is a lot of fun to read knowing the project for what it is. Star Wars fans should read it for the history and for what the current creators are doing." - Bleeding Cool

"Star Wars fans, this new series will satisfy your deepest fanboy desires. Thanks to Dark Horse, fans have one more memento to hold close to their hearts." - Den of Geek

"This comic is beautifully rendered and I felt completely breathless reading it. It feels like Star Wars, but different…" - Big Shiny Robot

"If you love Star Wars with every fiber of your being than you will find everything you love about Star Wars in these pages in a new and interesting way. Rinzler and Mayhew have created a great first step in this new Star Wars journey and if there's one thing I know about Star Wars it will likely be a journey worth taking." - All Comic

"The Star Wars #1 is a timeless tale and a refreshing addition to the franchise. Here's hoping this alternative universe springboards into its own saga. " - Comics: The Gathering

"The Star Wars #1 is, in short, the beginning of an unfinished vision of Star Wars redefined and perfected with all the insight of nearly 40 years of one of the most successful fictional franchises." - Graphic Policy

"An exciting prospect for the next eight months and beyond, The Star Wars is a terrific glimpse at what might have been." -Behind the Panels

"Fans of the real "Star Wars" won't dare miss it, and rightly so; it's also worth checking out for anybody who likes a good space opera. " - Comic Book Resources
